ḤADĪTH OF THE DAY

“ The Messenger of God, peace and blessings of God, be upon him, said, "Whoever wishes for God to respond to his supplication in times of hardship and distress, let him supplicate abundantly in times of ease." Footnote: (1) Masculine pronouns are generally used in Arabic as a means for referring to both men and women when the meaning is left general and is not otherwise specified. ”

Sunan at-Tirmithiy كتاب النذور والأيمان باب ما جاء فيمن يحلف بالمشى ولا يستطيع

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِى عَدِىٍّ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ عَنْ أَنَسٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَأَى رَجُلاً فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَهُ. هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ.

The Prophet, peace and blessings of God be upon him, passed by an old man who was walking supported by his two sons. So he (the Prophet) asked, "What is the matter with him?" They replied, "Messenger of God, he vowed to walk (to pilgrimage)." He replied, "God, The Almighty and Sublime, is certainly in no need for this man to torture himself." Then he ordered the man to ride.
